Hearts on Fire Chili Cookoff

Saturday, February 18, 2012 was the 2nd Annual Chili cook off. $10 to enter your chili. We had 10 entries and over 100 sampling guests. The event was held in the Gymnasium of the J.E. Hamilton Community House in downtown Two Rivers. The participants are required to make their chili on site due to county health code regulations. 
The public was invited to sample the chili from noon until 2pm. A donation of $5 to sample. The people who donated to sample were given an opportunity to vote for their favorite chili.
6 “celebrity” judges were given the task of judging the chili entries. Prizes are awarded for 1st, 2nd , 3rd places and best decorated table area based on the judges scoring.
1st Place - Mindy Christensen GJ's Coffee Bar
2nd Place - Stan and Deniese Burnett
3rd Place - Christine Konzik
Best Decorated Table Area - Dave and Bridget VanGinkel
People's Choice - Mindy Christensen GJ's Coffee Bar
Proceeds from this event will be used towards downtown Christmas decorations.
