The mission of Two Rivers Main Street is to help restore a thriving, lively commercial atmosphere to the downtown business improvement district. One feature of that mission includes assisting downtown businesses and commercial building owners who want to enhance the exterior appearance of their buildings.
The Two Rivers Main Street Sign and Facade Improvement & Restoration Grant program provides various resources and financial assistance to commercial property owners or business owners (with property owner approval) to encourage restoration projects of building facades and to enhance the building’s overall exterior appearance.
Storefront improvements do not need to be costly. Often, a fresh coat of paint or a new sign, awning, lighting fixtures or flower boxes and planters are all that is needed. Sometimes, however, projects are more ambitious, and may include more extensive renovation designed to improve or restore the aesthetic and historic quality of the building. Whether a proposed project includes modest sign, awning or lighting improvements or more extensive façade renovation this program will stretch everyone's dollars even farther by providing a 50/50 match in façade improvement and/or restoration funds up to 50% of the projects cost, with the Two Rivers Main Street grant not to exceed $5000.
The Sign & Façade Improvement & Restoration Grant Program is a project of Two Rivers Main Street and is administered by the Design Committee in coordination with the Two Rivers Main Street Board of Directors.
